Relay For Life
We partake in raising money for cancer research for our team before and at the event. While at the event we get to spent time with each other, hear inspirational stories of cancer survivors and to be able to honor all those we have lost and who have fought the battle of cancer.
Letters to Soldiers
Right before the holiday we got together and wrote letters to soldiers. We all know people who have served and currently serve in the military so we decided to reach out to service men and women to thank them for their service to our country.
Adopt a Highway
We have adopted 1 mile of highway on interstate 90! Once a semester we drive out there and split into two groups that each take a side of the highway and clean up everything that has been thrown out into the ditch.
Key Kids
Key Kids is an after school program in Winona that is for the low income community in Winona. It is completely free for the kids that community that are in K- 12th graders. Key Kids works to provide the kids with anything they might need from clothes to school supplies. We had a drive to collect supplies that the kids may need which included Halloween costumes, clothing, school supplies and even some new games and books!
Feed My Starving Children
Bingo at Saint Anne of Winona
We have been going to local nursing homes and partaking in their bingo nights. We help the residents with being able too hear what is being called, keeping track of the numbers. Besides just helping them we have been able to talk with them, they have gotten to know us and we have been getting to know them. It is amazing to be able to get to know them and talk with them, it brings a smile to their face when we get to sit and talk with them.
Nuts for Mutts
The Friday before finals week campus brings in a group that has registered therapy animals, mainly dogs. We help out with getting campus informed they are coming and that people petting the animals sign waivers. We also have sold different things to be able to donate the money to the group that brings the animals to help train more animals to help others.
Lemonade Stand
We have held a FREE lemonade stand to pass out lemonade to fellow students the week before finals to be able to cheer them up!
